Ten Years up to today

tagged by Wandergurl

Ten years ago I was 11 years old and a freshman in highschool. I was really excited about being out of grade school. At this time, I still did not know how to commute and had to wait for my yaya to pick me up from school. My mom brings me food every lunch and this was the time I had formed a great barkada and one of the best moments of my life. Even though I was already in highschool, I was more excited playing with barbie dolls and hanging out with friends. Boys were still out of the question. Hmm except for my seatmate crush whom I agreed to write lectures for him and the upper year guy whom I've held hands while singing "Our Father" during one of our First Friday Masses.

Five years ago I was 16. Addicted with lovestories and paperbooks in general. I was a sophomore in college and having the time of my life. At this time, the wonders of graphic design and the internet has caught up with me and I tirelessly stare in front of the computer monitor encoding software, tinkering with photoshop, reading email from edsamail, and chatting on mirc.
Days would not be complete without having isaw in UP with Sonie, Chonna, LJ, Mia and Jay, watching movies, shopping and hanging out with my barkada. At this time, Apple is still here in the Phils and we spend endless hours talking on the phone. Three way was the in thing. After going home from school, Barry, Apple, Dyan, Jobert, Bernard and a few more people are constant chatters on the phone. This was the time I formed life long friends that I terribly miss now because we seldom get together anymore.

One year ago I joined PWS, leaving behind my position as an L2 and reluctantly going back to calls so I can have Microsoft and A+ Certifications. At that time, I was thinking that the program will ramp up soon and it would be easy to move up. I was reluctant to leave my Gryffindor team. They've become so close to me and I also went out a lot with them. We always think of crazy things to do. One time we spent our day off in a hotel somewhere in Roxas Blvd, had a blast in Star City, waited for the sun to rise in baywalk, biked in CCP, went bowling in Rob Place, and went to Malate to surf the net instead of going out on gimiks.

Now, Im in denial and would rather not think if what I did was a good decision or not. One thing I dont regret is meeting my Dragonlance friends. We've been through good times and bad times. The stress of work probably made us closer. Now this team is what I always talk about in my previous posts. Cocomangas is a Dragonlance offshoot. We were split into three groups and my team is probably the most outgoing. Our motto was "work all day, party all night"! Now, out-of-town trips are no longer just GA stuff, we go whenever we want to!

and well, change is constant. Im now again part of a different team. I wonder what is going to happen there in my new family!

Yesterday, I had my ears pierced and went to Onse's birthday. Details are on the previous post. :)

Today, I went to mass with my family. Dad treated us to lunch and we went to the grocery. I watched Zorro in DVD, but I dont know what happened because I was lying on the sofa and i got asleep. I can't ask my dad what happened because he fell asleep even before I did. Haha. It might be contagious! I always do that whenever watching anything.

Tomorrow is the start of the third week of our training! I usually get sleepy in the middle of discussion, It's always hard to keep my eyes open. If not for the games and Dana's good natured personality I probably would not be able to stand having 4 more weeks of training. But then again, Im not too excited to take in calls and would rather stay in training.

I tag Carla, Kapay, and Jen!

Onse's Bday

I had my ears pierced last night! it was....OUCH! Now I have two piercings on each of my ears. More room for more earrings! haha. If only I would not keep on losing them, it would be better! I now have a boxful of earrings with missing pairs! *wink*

Last night was Onse's birthday (he's a good friend from college). My brother wanted to come with me and since I don't have anyone else to bring, I brought him with me . I and my other college friends agreed to go but only Joana and JP went. hohum! That's what always happen anyway. We would plan to go out or meet but at the date itself, it's either something else would come up or they would suddenly forget. Oh well...nothing changes.

It was a fun night nevertheless. I met a lot of new people who are all very interesting and nice. Everybody came from different backgrounds and what 's fun is they made us feel at home and very comfortable in their company. After a few beers, close na nga kami eh. hek hek. I was concerned about my brother not fitting in but I was wrong! He clicked with the boys. Well, why not? both he and onse came from the same highschool and their brains probably work the same way.

Lorelie and Emily: they are from france and they are here in the phils for an 8 month internship with PETA. Its a theater company with a cause. So far, they have been here for a month and have already met a lot of good friends.

We asked them what filipino words they know and they said they know how to say "bayad" "para" and "salamat" among others. handy words for these 2 who said they ride the jeepney to work. :)

san mig and cheese sticks! sarap!

my brother's newfound friends

real nice people! they usually are on Xaymaca every Wednesday doing gigs. And they are also into mountain climbing. I think it's really cool!

and as usual...more on flickr!

where did my frogprince go?

Tomorrow is funny hat day. I really could not think of any idea on what to wear. Ooops, I take that back! I was thinking of a few things but I really could not execute them because I don't know where to get them. Hmm..so I thought maybe I'll just bring a paper hat (that's gonna be so easy and cheap), a hat loaded with flowers (will make me look like a walking flower vase), a kiddy party hat or santa claus' hat.

I had to go home in Valenzuela today so I can get the camera for tomorrow's activities. Since mom was in the QC area, we decided to meet in SM City. I told her about tomorrow's theme and together we looked for things that I could wear. We went down and looked for Xmas decors to put in my hat but they were too expensive so I told her I would probably just use what we have at home. She treated me to dinner (teehee!) and while walking towards the resto, I saw Blue Magic and so told her I'd just go inside and see if there is anything in there that I could wear. The sales lady said they don't have any funny hats except for Santa's and I thought that would do but then I saw this stuffed toy frog and I thought it was really funny and cute so that's what I got instead. With two big safety pins, I placed it on my mom's hat. What do you think? :)

will you turn into a prince?

how many frogs do i have to kiss in order to see the prince? hehe

It would be so much fun I bet! We also decided to have potluck for lunch. Dana, our American trainer, has been so good to us so we are having this in honor of her. Time to show the Filipino hospitality!

GoodMorning Sunshine

GoodMorning Sunshine, snapshots by ^Vanessa^.

view outside our training room. shucks training is at 6 am! who wanna wake up that early? arrggh!

i wish i brought my camera today. The sunrise looks oh-so-good. This would have been a nice picture instead of the measly quality of my cameraphone.

Kapay blogged about our Galera trip! Good thing because Im really too lazy to do it. Read it here my friends -> Kapay's Blurty about Galera . I did do something! I took the pictures! hahaha sorry Im not the best person to write about it because I also got drunk, puked, and slept my head out so I don't remember everything but she's got a good memory and it all came back when I read her entry. It's a good read. I laughed aloud when I read what the others did. I pestered Gian during our training with his Konka konka konka :)

Dinner @ Cafe Mediterranean

Hi y'all. I spent the weekend together with my old teammates. We went to Rockwell and played bowling then Aldin treated us to dinner. We had sumptious food! It's Aldin's treat on Cafe Mediterranean. I wish I could write more but I only got 10 minutes of break time so just go ahead and visit my flickr page. All of our pics that day are already uploaded. :)

Kape for Everybody

Hi guys! can't think of anything to post right now. This is just a senseless entry. We've just finished our first assessment for Intuit. It was for an hour and a half but I finished early so Im here in the pantry surfing the 'net. Hahaha in short, tinamad magreview at atat na mag internet kaya ako nandito.

Check out this blog: Callcenters are for losers! . That's a blog by some freak named Cofibean who's got a lot of angst against callcenter agents. I don't really know for sure if it is just a satire or if it's done by a real person who's got nothing better to do than bash people who has done nothing to him. But yeah, go ahead and check it out! You'll find it amusing and nakakainis at the same time.

(calling lahat ng di nakikinig sa training dyan! haha sabi ng bawal ang non-business related eh! )

I found this out through another trainee..hala sya pinagkakaisahan na sya ng lahat ng call center people!

La lang. Yun lang. :)
